I will either find a way
or MAKE ONE.

Hi!

I'm Ema.

I’ve been a digital problem-solver and designer since the internet was born, or 2009, depending on whose counting and when I turned pro. My specialties are combining crisp, modern aesthetics and functionality to craft visually stunning, SEO-optimized websites and graphics for clients and brands needing sizzle and hum.

I build websites and provide solutions for business clients of all sizes spanning the globe in all categories, serving spirited creatives in the real estate, film, music, and publishing industries who need compelling presentations that best represent their work, services, or eCommerce products.

From gorgeous responsive layouts to customized user-centric experiences, I tackle common design challenges head-on and build sites that convert visitors into your ideal customer or outcome. Need a fully responsive site that loads quickly across devices, or balancing beautiful form and function with a robust eCommerce solution, or, how about quickly showcasing your portfolio or investment decks with delightful surprises and maximum style along the way?

I'VE GOT YOU.

I am undaunted by platform builders and here to help you navigate the best system for your specific needs, whether it be Squarespace, Showit, Cargo, WordPress, or subscription-based platforms like Ghost. If you have a platform in mind I can help determine if it’s the perfect fit for you, based on our initial consultation and your (fun! I promise) project intake form input.

FUN FACTS ABOUT ME

True story.

I’m kind of a big deal.
➥ A background as a film industry department head instilled in me a strongly collaborative and trustworthy approach to solving high-profile creative challenges with not-gonna-lie some pretty hifalutin’ A-List folks and ensure that we translate your current ideas, wishes, and wants into masterpieces that not only look great but deliver whatever your desired results may be.
But that wasn’t always the case:
➥ I learned to code in the mid-90s on Apple's adorably fierce little beast, the Mac SE; what with its whopping 9-inch monochrome display and a drawerful of floppy disks I was unstoppable. And now that I think about it, mastering DOS language while a high school sophomore as Mrs. Lyon’s illustrious "Business Assistant" counts for something as well. [Wildly popular and seldom bullied? Oh sure, sure!)

➥ When eBay came on the scene and I wanted to list buzz-worthy hotcake seller items, I went to town styling the bejesus out of those, in the name of maximum profitability, of course. Hey man, dimes make dollars! 💸

➥ My first websites were hand-coded in Dreamweaver and consisted of a million little pieces and parts stemming from whatever wild notions I dreamt of the night before. Those sites often broke, and fixing could mean days-long Sisyphean nightmares. And they certainly did not play well with early smartphones. It is wonderful having an artillery of future-proof tools at my disposal today, where pretty much any dream scheme can be beautifully created and shared! Someday, I will share all of my favorite website-building and tech stack resources.
I almost became an Architect.
As a film industry exit strategy. Talk about trading one über-stressful, highly competitive situation for another. But the education paved the road for future design and structural know-how, which I regularly utilize with real estate and development clients today.
➥ I still write in architectural lettering and turn big ideas from loose bubble diagrams into finely rendered perfection.
What did I learn?
➥ My nerdhood-to-Hollywood journey made me seasoned at project management and inventing uniquely creative solutions on the fly. I learned that no experience is wasted, they just become savory ingredients to fold into prized business recipes later in life.
➥ Also true: 10/10 I do not miss the Hollywood life; while proud of my achievements and nominations, the past remains the past but also means I know a thing or 9000 about the specific needs of film and arts and entertainment industry clientele.
